Its Okay Cause We Were Happier Then

My Father-in-law Howard, his wife Margart, were sitting on the big front porch.  My two sister-laws were sitting on the steps.  It seems they were the age they were now but dressed in clothes from the 60's.  Petal pushers with flowers (forerunner of Capri)and little sleeveless shirts.  They were barefoot.  My sister-in-law LaDonna had bright red lipstick on and her dark eyebrows penciled in like she does now, but she was only about 10 or so.   My other sister in law Linda was really chubby and had pony tails. and was like the same age... But like I said they were old like now.... (weird)   My father in law had on reading glasses on his nose which he never had in real life and he and Mother in law were in rocking chairs and Mom in law was knitting (which she never did either)  and it was like this huge quilt made out of squares but she was kitting it.   Dad in law was reading a story and everyone was laughing and having a good time.    I sat across the street on the curb.  I was in the same era of clothes as sis in laws.   My hair was dark and short.  And I was bent over playing with a stick on the ground but it was a butterfly net....and I was really scared because I was afraid a moth would go into it?   I would peek over at the porch and was sad that I was not with them.  All of sudden they noticed me and so they ran across the street to me....they told me to come listen to the stories their dad had been reading and when I looked over there was a huge pile of Encyclopedias.  I thought that was really nice.  (?)  They then were standing on the sidewalk with a small airplane that little kids could sit in and drive like a little car (like the one my husband had in the 40's which I have seen pictures of) it was black and white. They put me in it and then put on a baseball cap and the old goggles and pulled me back across the street but in the middle of the street was a huge Ceder tree and we stopped and pulled off the bark and it was like gram crackers and we were eating it and laughing because cars were honking at us and some old guy reached out the window with a fist and said you kids need to get out of the street.   And my sis in law Linda gave him and gram cracker and he said it was ok we were there and he backed up and left.   They finished pulling me across the street but the airplane was now a red wagon and we were all ridding in it down the hill (?) back to their house....They took me up the steps and my Dad in law motioned for me to sit on his lap and he just started reading.  I looked around and realized I was really happy.
