Whos Got the Button?

I stepped on the gas. My friends and I had driven to a nearby city. We hadn’t expected it to be so deserted. There wasn’t a soul in sight as we drove down main street. I parked the car at the motel and we got out. The ground was dry and bare. I almost expected a tumbleweed to roll by. It was an especially dark evening. There were no clouds and stars were hard to see. This quiet, barren city put me on edge. It was like the setting of a horror movie. It was late but not that late. We walked into the motel and there was a lady just sitting at the desk, staring. We politely addressed her and she greeted us and assigned us a room. We entered our room and it was just as we had pictured it would be. Simple, plain and slightly dusty. After incepting the room, we decided to go to the giant, oddly placed building across the street. We entered the building and it was huge! There were tons of restaurants and stores! It was very clean and the floors and walls seemed to sparkle. My friends wandered off as I headed to the elevator. I went inside and noticed that the doors were mostly transparent. I pressed the level 1 button. I stared at the ‘B’ button. I was curious so I pressed it also. The elevator stared to descend slowly. The elevator stopped at the first floor before continuing on to the basement. The first floor had tables full of food which was enticing but I was still curious about the basement. The doors closed finally. The elevator arrived at the basement, which was almost completely dark except for a few security lights. It was quite eerie. I steeped out of the elevator to quickly look around. There were four giant generators humming away. Satisfied with was exploration, I went to get back in the elevator when I felt something grab my ankle. I froze. I looked down and saw a zombie! I snapped out of my stupor and kick the zombie in the face. I ran into the elevator as more of them emerged from the shadows and pressed the level 1 button repeatedly. It was taking forever for the doors to close. Something shiny caught my eye in the corner of the elevator...it was a gun! I grabbed it and started to shoot the zombies. Finally the doors closed. I took a deep breath. It was over. I pressed the level 1 button again since it had stopped glowing. Nothing happened. I pressed it again and pressed level 2 as well. Finally the elevator started to move. All of the elevator buttons lit up at once and the elevator started to pick up speed. I panicked and pressed the level one button over and over until the elevator stopped and the doors opened. It was the first floor.
